Selective Service Registration (S.B. 1563): Requires those who must register with Selective Service under federal law to be registered in order to receive a driver’s license.

Abandoned Vehicles on Private Property (S.B. 1564): Authorizes private property owners to remove abandoned vehicles from their property to a salvage yard with the permission of a police officer.

Operating a Foreign Vehicle in Pennsylvania (S.B. 1565): Eliminates a loophole in Pennsylvania law by which vehicles can be operated in-state by residents without obtaining a Pennsylvania registration.

Passengers in Open Trucks (S.B. 1566): Amends current law which bans passengers in open truck beds to allow an exception for seated passengers wearing safety belts.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (S.R. 219): Designates November as “Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month” to create awareness of pancreatic cancer, the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S.

HIKE Day Resolution (S.R. 198): Designates November 18, 2000, as "HIKE Day" to urge all citizens to recognize and support the efforts of the Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment (HIKE) Fund to provide hearing devices for children with hearing impairments whose parents are financially unable to meet this special need.

Vehicular Homicide (S.B. 1486): Increases the period of license suspension for persons who commit vehicular homicide from one year to three years or until age 21, whichever is greater.

Children's Health Care (S.B. 1304): Eliminates a gap in the present law causing certain low-income children to qualify for neither the CHIP nor Medical Assistance programs.

Juror Pay (S.B. 1311): Increases juror pay from $9 per day to $25 per day for the first three days, and from $25 per day to $50 per day for each day thereafter.

Nonmedical Good Samaritan Civil Immunity (S.B. 520): Protects employers who provide emergency care or first aid training to their employees from lawsuits resulting from an employee's rendering of emergency care.

Pre-Approved School Design (S.B. 284): Reduces the cost of designing, planning and constructing new school facilities by establishing a state-held portfolio of pre-approved standardized plans.

Uniform Construction Code (S.B. 647): - Act 45 of 1999: Establishes a minimum state-wide building code to protect life and property, encourage affordable housing, and strengthen access requirements for the disabled.

Handicapped Parking (S.B. 348): Removes certain signing requirements regarding handicapped and disabled veteran parking in order to improve enforcement of parking regulations.

Appropriation to the Department of Environmental Protection (S.B. 716): Provides funds to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for Local Soil and Water District Assistance by local conservation districts.

Prevailing Wage "Opt-In" (S.B. 1044): Reduces the costs of construction for school districts and municipalities by allowing local governments to chose whether to be under the state prevailing wage mandate.

Notice to Shut Off Sewer (S.B. 1046): Prohibits a municipality from shutting off water supply for the nonpayment of a sewage bill until 15 days after written notice has been mailed, by first-class mail, to the person liable for nonpayment.

Appointment and Promotion Preference in Public Employment for Volunteer Firefighters (S.B. 1048): Requires the Commonwealth and municipalities, when choosing between equally-qualified candidates for public employment, to give preference to volunteer firefighters.

Rescission of Contracts (S.B. 1057): Amends Section 201-7 of the Unfair Trade Practices Act to prevent buyers from abusing their right to rescind certain kinds of contracts.

Accelerated Evictions (S.B. 1058): Provides landlords who post a $1,500 bond with an accelerated process for evicting tenants, and provides tenants with the right to make a claim on the bond if an order of accelerated eviction is wrongfully entered.

Right Lane Driving (S.B. 1059): Repeals the requirement for vehicles to be driven in the furthest right lane of limited access highways.

Correction of Support Overpayments (S.B. 1060): Authorizes County Domestic Relations Sections to take steps necessary to compensate an individual for overpayments of child support, including the authority to decrease the amount withheld from the individual's paycheck.

Week of the Young Child Resolution (S.R. 62): Designates April 19 through April 25, 1999, as "Week of the Young Child" to urge all citizens to recognize and support the needs of young children in our community.

York County 250th Anniversary Resolution (S.R. 63): Honors York County on the occasion of its 250th Anniversary.

Fire Sprinkler Study (S.R. 132): Commissions a study to determine the feasibility of retrofitting high-rise buildings, colleges, dormitories, and other buildings housing individuals with fire sprinkler systems.

Income Tax Filing by Individuals and Couples with Poverty Income (S.B. 1121): Eliminates the requirement of filing an income tax return for most individuals and couples who qualify for complete tax forgiveness.

Instruments Under Seal (S.B. 1122): Protects individuals who borrow for a car or other personal purposes from lenders who abuse the legal doctrine of "instruments under seal" to file lawsuits after the 4-year Statute of Limitations has expired.

Drivers' Financial Responsibility (S.B. 1123): Adjusts for inflation the dollar amount of minimum insurance a driver must carry (set in 1974 at $5,000 for property insurance and $15,000 for injury to others).

Resolution to Urge the Department of Transportation to Abandon Metric Conversion (S.R. 102): Urges PennDoT to abandon its policy of proceeding with complete metrification.

"Do Not Call Lists" (S.B. 1215): Prohibits telemarketers from calling individuals who place themselves on a "Do Not Call List" maintained by local telephone companies.

Sales & Use Tax for Out-of-State Vendors (S.B. 1216): Closes a loophole which allows out-of-state vendors conducting business in Pennsylvania to evade sales and use taxes.
